DUI
ROI I don't know how your stocks are doing recently, but if I'm DUI
Racing, I might consider investing in fantasy league racing... so far he's
beating out Google, Microsoft, and a bunch of others! Despite a 54 point
lineup this week, DUI Racing maintains a 10 point lead and a stranglehold on the
#1 spot in the league. Hot Rod Wildcat also turned in a 54 point lineup
(with only one driver in common with DUI...) and did not present much of a
challenge for DUI. The Crew turned in an 18 point lineup that was second
place in the league for the race, jumping them into third on the season and a
possible contender for DUI. But for right now, our "influenced"
leader will continue driving unabated toward the championship... let's hope for
his sake there aren't any checkpoints ahead. I may have to develop our
league's very own sobriety test... something like: spell "Keselowski"
backwards.
The
"Stinger" After turning in a personal best-ever race
lineup of 12 points, we may want to change a team name from The Ringer to The
Stinger! Normally a 12 point lineup is an exceptional race, but this race
was almost as unpredictable as a Daytona or Talledega race with a majority of
the lineups scoring in the 50 point range (and up). We even had several
lineups over 80 points. The Ringer is added to the league records page in
a tie for 2nd in the lowest race points, joining only four* other drivers who
have accomplished that feat in the 3 year history of this league.
Congratulations!
* There are actually five other entries tied for second place with 12 points,
TBills has two 12 point race lineups on the record books.
At
first glance... When you first look at the homepage of the league
website, you may not notice much different. (Other than the fact that I've
actually had time to do a race write-up!) But, login and you'll see some
changes. First of all, after a successful login, you will be taken to your
team page instead of the league homepage. In your team page you will
notice I've added a "Team News" section that details your performance
in the last race and how you're doing in the season standings. Also, I've
changed the Schedule / Results page to include the team lineups for the
race. Sometimes it's interesting to look back and see what driver other
teams have been selecting as well as checking your own past lineups. Now
you have a resource to do that. I've been working on all these updates for
a little while and I think I've got all the "bugs" worked out.
If you find something that isn't working, please let me know.
C'est la vie
As life has it, there always seems to be those teams that get off to a rocky
start, and then things go downhill from there. Holdem42 and Racin Rusty
have had some tough luck this year and have now missed quite a few consecutive
races, putting them out of contention for gaining any further positions.
Originally, I set the rule that after 3 missed races you were out, but I
rescinded that rule because with some amazing lineups you could possibly
still be competitive in the league, even if you weren't contending for the
championship. So, as it is now, I wait until it is not mathematically
possible for a team to advance a position to give them a DNF on the
season. With only 16 races left to go, that time has come for Holdem42 and
Racin Rusty. We bid them adieu and hope to see them back next season with
a little better luck.
Race On!
