Race
Summary:
I have got
to figure out a way to opt out of the restrictor plate races - I can't take the
stress and aggravation! While some teams turned in fairly decent lineups
this week, most of us were 70 points or more (...a LOT more). I don't
think I can take much more mayhem! I find it hilarious that my last resort
in hoping to not totally drop from existence in the league is cheering for
everyone to wreck so we ALL do horribly! For the most part, Talladega was
a nice, clean, comfortable race... then the 50 laps left mark hit and chaos
ensued. You can always count on some big names going down, and some
no-names surfacing in the top 10 and even top 5. If you're a numbers
person like me, you analyze and calculate - who has the best odds? Then
you throw in a little gut feeling and you've got your lineup. I think I'll
stick to throwing darts after this week.
DUI Racing
is certainly settling into the #1 spot quite comfortably. Several have
gotten close, but none have proven to be threats... yet. Second place is
Billinger Racing 21 points back, then two more teams a lurking in the dark under
30 points out... just waiting for a slight quiver.
For the
most part, things look to be fairly competitive throughout the league
standings. There is a 21 point gap between 1st and 2nd, and again at 37th
and 38th, but the rest of the league seems to be very close in points. I
imagine things will stay tight with this many teams - for every one that goes
down, two more may come up to take the spot! But unlike Talladega, you
can't make a quick run to the front after waiting patiently at the back the
entire season... so try not to mire yourself to far back when we get the
10-to-go for the year!
Just a
little REMINDER for those of you that may need that sort of thing...
NEXT
WEEK'S RACE IS ON SATURDAY!
Don't
forget to turn in your lineups! If you do, you'll have the opportunity to
repeat your DNF again the week after that, too. May 3 and May 10 are the
next two races... BOTH SATURDAY NIGHT RACES!!!
Race On!
