Race
Summary:
Spooky-Good
Ghost rider is showing us all how it's done. After week one, ghost rider
was mired back in 38th position. Week two saw a nice jump up 13 spots to
25th place. This week, ghost rider has cracked the top 10, landing in the
ninth position, moving up 16 spots! This guy is good... spooky good.
Another
team on the rise is JoJoRacing, who started out the season 35th.
Consistency is the key for this team... back-to-back top 15 race lineups have
moved JoJoRacing into the 11th spot on the season.
Bouncing
Bricks Have you ever seen a brick that bounced? Well, now you
have! Last week, Brickman had a rough day at the track and lost 15 spots
in the season standing because of it. This week, the Brick turned in a
first place lineup and bounced back those 15 spots plus 1 to land in the 4th
spot in the season standings. Nice recovery!
Razor X is
another team that didn't stay down long after last week's California
calamity. Down 7 last week and back up 8 this week put Razor X in the top
three.
The only
other team to bounce into the top 5 is MK17 on the strength of a first place
race lineup. MK17 now sits at the second position, poised well within
reach to take over the #1 spot in the weeks to come.
Sobriety
Check-point Apparently all the checkpoints have been avoided this
season, as DUI Racing swerves into the top 5 this week. This team has
always been on the rise, and never been below 11th place. Now that you're
in the top 5 though, you're no longer under-the-radar. Better practice up
on the reverse alphabet just in case.
Terrible
Trouble for The Tyler Tandem and TBills Momma always said there'd
be days like this... and now you know what she was talkin' about. Just
like some other teams, TTT & TBills probably felt a little miffed when Tony
smacked the wall and was obviously out for the race - earning a nice 43 points
for the ol' lineup. The rest of the day wasn't too bad except for the fact
that Jimmie Johnson wasn't a factor at all - mostly hanging back around the tail
of the pack with numerous issues and finishing an un-inspiring 29th. The
good news - at least you still had two top 5 drivers! The bad news -
Johnson would end up being the second-best driver in your lineup, only missing
being the best by 9 spots. The Tyler Tandem got hit the hardest, dropping
from 3rd place to 24th on the season, while TBills fell 14 spots into 29th
place. Reminds me of something else momma always said... "fantasy
racin' is like a box o' chocolates... ya never know what your gonna get".
In
the numbers Earlier, I stated how much ghost rider had moved up in
the season standings. However, something that might be of concern is the
fact that when ghost rider was in 38th position, that team was 58 points back
from the leader. The next race, ghost rider moved up 13 spots, but only
gained 3 points on #1. After the third race when ghost rider moved up 16
spots, they actually lost 1 point on #1. What does this mean??? The
teams at the top need to suffer some setbacks! With this many teams, I
thought the competition would be pretty fierce. So far, it's been very
competitive but it's also proven to create a larger points spread. The
closest racing seems to be in the middle of the pack where there are 13 teams
within about 30 points of each other, and five of those teams are tied with
another team. At the top, a 30 point spread only catches the top 4.
Race On!
