Race Summary:

Well, well, well... I guess racinboys decided to prove that last week was certainly an accident!  He submitted a personal best 17 point roster and this week's #1 race lineup.  Welcome back... if you keep this up you'll surpass your previous season-high of 15th place.

Another fine lineup this week came from Shake N Bake Racing.  With an 18 point lineup, Shake N Bake ends the slow downslide they've been on since the third race of the season.  Things are looking up now, though, as they climb back into the top 15.

Speaking of looking up, we have a new team at the top after Talledega.  Well, new from last week anyway... dirty duck is no stranger to the number one spot.  He has claimed the crown 7 out of 9 weeks so far this year.  The spot is gained, of course, at the expense of race junky who fell victim to the "overdrive" melee as many of us did.

Once again, the top five remained the same this week even though a few teams decided to swap around: dirty duck and race junky in 1 and 2, and also Speedracer and 4U2Envy in 4 and 5.

JTC & the Boyz makes a top-five-threatening jump up three spots and just 5 points out of the top 5!

The biggest jump in season standings went to trentonk, who at first I thought was another no show this week until I checked my email and found his submitted lineup.  Trentonk is only 4 points outside the top 10 after moving up 5 spots this week.  He is another team that has been on the downhill slide since race #2, but now seems to be back on track to move into the top 10, maybe even back into the top 5!

The Tyler Tandem turned in a personal best roster and moved up 4 positions in the season standings.  Watch out for this team... the last two races they have been turning in top 10 race lineups.  Consistency is the key to moving up in the season charts.

On the flip side, Brickman fell like a... well, like a brick!  Down seven spots, the Brick-meister had an unfortunate lineup containing Carl Edwards.  And if that wasn't discouraging enough, Casey Mears added even more insult to injury.  Oh well, at least he had Denny Hamlin who looked like he was going to win the race or at least get a top five, right?  Wrong!  After making the entire field go for their Sunday afternoon leisure drive under the pretty yellow flag, Denny didn't have enough zip left in his zap, and ended up being yet another thorn in the Brick today.

Another victim this week was Spanky.  Even though the lineup wasn't terrible, the season points were close and it seemed like everyone behind him turned in a good to great roster.  Alas, Spanky got spanked and dropped 5 spots and out of the top 15 this week.

Special kudos go out to Budman and Queen B.  Yes, they currently inhabit the bottom half of the season standings, but they have been on the upsurge and both have their highest season ranking to date.

KB GB Racing is also a team that has been consistently improving each week.  After a bad start, KB GB Racing is proving that consistency is the key as they creep closer and closer to the top ten.

Special non-kudos go to Hotrod, who has recently achieved the lowest ranking of the season for that team!

Team Recognition:

Sorry, these awards aren't worth anything but bragging rights!

The GOLD Helmet this week goes to The Tyler Tandem, McCurdy Racing and MonkeyMan for selecting David Gilliland.  Yeah... he qualified good, but this is Talledega right?  How good can he really finish?  How about 7th for your answer!  Great selection!

The SILVER Steering Wheel Award goes to dirty duck, racinboys, Shake N Bake Racing, and trentonk for having all four of their drivers finish in the top ten this week!  It would be hard enough to do that for the rest of us without a salary cap, and you managed to do it on a budget.  Congrats, nice picks!

The BRONZE Burnout Award goes to everyone that picked this week's winner, Jeff Gordon.  I don't care if you like him or not, he is really having a great year so far and is difficult to ignore on your lineup.

The GOLDEN Dipstick Award goes to none other than Brickman.  Sometimes you just hit a brick wall... without a safer-barrier!  Things may look a little desperate now down in the bottom-feeders of the season standings.  Make sure you don't get used to it down there!
