TP - Total Points   CH - Position Change   PB - Points Behind
W - Wins       T5 - Top 5's      T10 - Top 10's

Race Summary:

Speedy Lineup  Our top dog this week was Speedracer, who turned in a very nice 25 point lineup that included race winner Johnson, another top 5 driver Kenseth, a top 10 finish by Truex Jr, and a top 15 driver - 14th place JJ Yeley to round out the lineup.  That impressive selection moves Speedracer up 2 spots this week into 12th position.  Better yet, Speedracer is now only two points away from 11th, & 8 points out of the top 10.  Keep up the good work, and you'll be in the money when the confetti flies.  On a well-deserved side note: TBills turned in a 27 point lineup this week for a strong 2nd place for the race.  Each of the top two teams this week had the race winner, 2 top 5's, and 3 top 10's.

9 for 10 and Hotrod is in  Even with the close points battles in the top 10 (some places are separated by only 2 points), there were nine positions out of the top ten that remained the same.  The only change was a new team... and I mean BRAND NEW team!  Hotrod has spent a majority of the season in the dismal depths outside the top 20.  He now crashes the top 10 party, landing in ninth spot this week after a nice 4th place race lineup.  This is a team on the move, and if we had some more races to run, I think Hotrod would be a difficult team to keep out of the top spot.

The Driver Dilemma  Ahhh, each week brings on a new (and sometimes the same) rash of issues for certain drivers.  No driver is immune to it, but some seem to have a chronic affliction whereas others may be rarely affected.  Take Dale Jr for instance... I've lost count of the problems he's had this year - from engines to tires, wrecking and fires - this guys can't get a break.  BUT, he's a good driver when the car makes it to the end of the race - and he's also a popular driver, so you can almost bet when he goes down early, there are moans and groans in the fantasy racing world.  This week, Dale Jr teams got a nice fat 43 for their selection.  At this point in the season, that's kinda like fumbling in the 4th quarter.  In the spot right above Dale Jr was Carl Edwards.  After some good practices and decent qualifying, Carl was probably selected by more teams than usual... and they paid the price.  The last driver disappointment this week had to be Kasey Kahne at 40th.  Only three teams had Kahne this week, but one of those was Spanky... who had Earnhardt, too!

Everything's Bigger in Texas  That little saying is true this week, as our "Texas" team gains the most spots in the season standings... up 4 places into 19th.  Texas Bitch has had an up and down season this year with some really good lineups... and some really bad ones.  After starting out in the top 5 the first race of the season, things have been slowly going downhill with just slightly more bad luck than good.  So, it's nice to see this team back into the top 20.

Category Chat  Wins - Top 5's - Top 10's  Each of these categories are worth $55 to the winner (or winners).  BUT, unlike the season points race, this is winner(s) take all.  There's no prize for second place!  Here's a breakdown of those in contention in each category:

Wins - We have one race left, which narrows the chances drastically for all the category championships.  One category that was still within reach last week is now clinched.  Hot Rod Wildcat has scored 19 race winners to date, and with the next closest being Cosmo at 17, it's just not possible to even tie for the championship.  Hand it to Cosmo, though, he did what he had to do to give himself a chance.  If HRW had not picked the race winner this week, Cosmo would still have a chance for the tie.

Top 5's - Still up for grabs is the top 5 championship, barely.  HRW leads this category at 52 top 5 selections, while trentonk clings to a chance with 49.  Trentonk didn't help matters this week by only having 1 driver in the top 5.  HRW stumbled by only having one driver finish in the top 5, so there was a chance to make gains, but trentonk couldn't take advantage of it.  This category is down to these two teams now, everyone else has been mathematically eliminated.

Top 10's - A week after losing a death-grip-lead on top 10's, dirty duck is back at the top... but he's not alone.  Dirty duck did take advantage of HRW's miscue, and tied the top 10's at 78.  The Tyler Tandem is also in the running just two back from the leaders at 76.  Just like last week, there are several teams with a theoretical chance... any team with 74 or more at least has a chance to tie for the lead.  Out of the seven teams this includes, the championship will likely belong to one of the top three - dirty duck, HRW, TTT.

...and the field gets the 1-to-go  Take a look at the entire season, and you'll instantly realize that dirty duck has earned his spot at the perch.  With only one race left in the 2007 fantasy NASCAR season, it's looks as though dirty duck will cruise to the championship easily.  Hot Rod Wildcat just couldn't stand with the competition.  He made a run at the lead the last couple weeks, but couldn't keep up and the duck puts 73 points between them now.  Challengers have come and gone, and dirty duck has topped them all thus far.  Back in the pack, several teams in the top 10 are poised for attack, with less than 20 points separating them from position(s) ahead of them.  It's time to give it all you've got for one last time!

Good Luck to everyone!
