Race
Summary:
Perfect
10 lineups It's been awhile... 8 weeks ago at California... since a
team was able to nail all 4 drivers in the top 10. Two teams do it this
week, Brickman and Hotrod turn in a 17 point lineup! Excellent picks -
congratulations! This duo drafted each other up two spots into 10th and
11th place on the season with their performance this week. The next
closest lineup was 30 points by KB GB Racing, certainly a decent lineup but
still 13 points back from 1st place this week. KB GB also moves up two
spots for the 30pt lineup.
Wildness
back to Mildness After turmoil in the top ten, this week looks
similar to two weeks ago when not much happened in the top 10. This week,
nine positions remained constant with only a slight increase or decrease in
points differences between positions. There was a small gain on the #1
spot as Hot Rod Wildcat closed the gap from 67 to 48, but at this point in the
season that's about like being the lucky dog and getting back on the lead lap
with only two laps left. Dirty duck still has a comfortable lead.
TrentonK also edged a little closer to The Intimidator. JTC & The Boyz
gained 10 points on Shake N Bake for 7th spot... only 4 points back now.
Green
- White - Checkered The 2007 field of fantasy racers are coming to
the green flag next weekend with only two races left in the season. The
points have certainly stretched out at the end of the season. Third place
is now 109 points back from the leader when only ten races ago, 109 points back
would have gotten you 11th place. That means the competition has been
tightening up and teams are turning in some really good lineups week after
week. Consistency has always been the key to the championship, and dirty
duck has certainly shown that during this season. While not completely in
the clear yet, dirty duck has built a decent lead and that's nice to have a
little cushion in case a driver has some bad luck on the track.
Category
Chat Wins - Top 5's - Top 10's Each of these categories are
worth $55 to the winner (or winners). BUT, unlike the season points race,
this is winner(s) take all. There's no prize for second place!
Here's a breakdown of those in contention in each category:
Wins -
Hot Rod Wildcat leads the pack with 18, and since we only have two races left,
that means if you have less than 16... you're out of luck. With no teams
at 17, HRW has clinched at least a share of first place. But HRW isn't
in the clear because Cosmo has recorded 16 winning drivers. If Cosmo can
pick the winner of the next two races, and HRW doesn't pick a winner in either
race, Cosmo will claim a share of first place. If HRW gets just one
winner, though, it's out of reach for Cosmo.
Top 5's
- With four possibilities per race, the top 5 category isn't quite so limited
yet. Hot Rod Wildcat is currently in the lead at 51 top 5's with
trentonk in second at 48. The race seems to be mostly between these two
teams, because third place is 44 - 7 back from first place. Now
mathematically any team at 43 has a shot at achieving at least a share of
first place, but odds are against it because a 43 point team would have to
have lineups with all four drivers in the top 5 and have HRW not pick any top
5's & trentonk only pick 3 top 5's in the next two races. Possible -
yes, likely - no. If you're one of the teams at 44, you're chances are a
little better, but not much. A 44 team actually has a slight chance to
gain sole possession of first place, and a small chance at a share of
1st. Just a little statistical tidbit - only once has a team had all
four drivers in the top 5 this season - Whitetrash back in race #2 of the
season at California.
Top 10's
- The top 10's are currently the most competitive category. Dirty duck
lost a long-time stranglehold on first place this week to Hot Rod Wildcat...
but only by one. HRW has 76 top 10's, dirty duck 75, and then several
teams at 73, 72, 71, & 70. Again, the only people mathematically
eliminated from the top 10's are teams with 67 or fewer. It is more
likely that teams 72 or more probably have the best chance at first place or
at least a share of it. There are currently six teams at 72 or more: HRW,
dirty duck, The Tyler Tandem, The Intimidator, trentonk, & Shake N Bake
Racing. There are quite a few teams with between 71 & 68 top 10's
and first place is possible for you, but it will take a LOT of bad luck for a
LOT of teams ahead of you.
It's
ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, though!!
Good luck!
