Race
Summary:
Round 'em
up! Cattleman leads the herd this week and takes the honors for
best-of-race with a 35 point lineup. Most of the rest of the top 20 for
the race were left trailing in the dust with lineups in the 50's and 60's.
Cattleman moves up only one spot because of some points separation, but also
gains 20 points on the next in line. Head 'em up, move 'em out, rawhide!
Flyin'
High We have a familiar face at the front of the flock as dirty duck
not only retains the #1 position in the season standings, but puts another 13
points of padding between 1st and 2nd place. Early in the season dirty
duck had a stranglehold on the #1 spot. After a few mishaps, he slipped
around in the the top 5 for a while, but has once again staked a firm claim on
first place late in the season. With only five races to go on the season,
can anyone challenge the duck?
Colorado
Rockies Alter-Ego If anyone has been following the Rockies' baseball
team, you are well aware of a mediocre team having an incredible
performance-surge late in the season. The Rockies-like team of our league
has to be Hot Rod Wildcat. This week, HRW claims the 3rd spot in the
league... the highest he's ever been this season. After a decent start,
things went to pot in just a few weeks and he spent most of the season jumping
around outside the top 15 and top 20. As the season is winding down, HRW
hasn't exactly been spectacular, but he has been consistent. Slowly and
methodically he bumped his way up into the top 20, top 15, top 10, top 5 and now
sits at #3.
Hero to
Zero Race Junky appeared to be MIA at first, but now I think AWOL may
be more accurate. This team was a dominant team for most of the season,
hanging around the top five for almost 20 weeks. Then a missed race
plummeted the team down to the 22nd spot... but race junky was mounting an
impressive comeback, gaining steadily and climbing well into the top 15.
After couple of bad luck lineups and another missed race, race junky now sits in
the dumpster in 28th position, followed only by VILME who has also achieved the
uncoveted 176 point lineup several times with missed races.
4 wide
racing... Rocketman, Cosmo, 4U2Envy, & The Crew are
four teams eyeing the top 10 spot, with only 20 points separating them.
There is also some tight racing going on a little further back in the pack with
Off Constantly, KB GB Racing, McCurdy Racing, & Hotrod... only 9 points
separate those four teams!
5 to
go... Five laps left in the 2007 NASCAR fantasy league race! Much like
Jeff Gordon in the Cup standings, dirty duck appears to have a comfortable lead
and could be looking at a championship soon. We have a few challengers
within 100 points of the lead, but the closest is 73 points back. To be a
threat, challengers will need near-perfect performances and also a few slips by
dirty duck. The rest of the top 5 are within striking distance, but again
need to be perfect and hope for some bad luck with the teams ahead of
them. Championship hopes for teams outside the top 5 are probably
unrealistic at this point, but certainly not completely impossible. The
fight for 10th spot is very competitive right now. Rocketman replaces
Cosmo this week at #10, but only two points separate them.
