Race
Summary:
The dirty
duck is back flying high with a 1st place 21 point race lineup, and moving up to
2nd spot. Trentonk also tied the top points in this race, boosting that
team up 4, the most spots gained this week by any team. Oh, and do not let
me forget to mention... we have a NEW SEASON points leader!
Smoke20
had a top 10 race lineup this week, and was more than willing to take advantage
of The Tyler Tandem's tough topple down two to third. Smoke20 is not a
stranger to #1, if you remember the standings after NHIS, race #17 of the
season. If you DO remember, also realize this... that week we had a TIE
for #1 with Whitetrash and Smoke20. So this is the first time that team
has been sole owner of the #1 position. Be wary, though... Smoke20
promptly followed that week with a 121 point lineup that dropped 'em four
spots. Since then, the team has came ever-oh-so-close to #1, maintaining a
strangle-hold on second spot for the last five weeks... several weeks less than
5 points from the top spot. Congrats to Smoke20, here's hoping your reign
lasts longer than it did last time!
Actually,
some of the other teams below you may be hoping for a repeat of Smoke20's prior
performance. Speaking of the rest of the top 5, The Intimidator and Hot
Rod Wildcat are displaying some very exciting racing coming down to the closing
laps. This week they are tied, last week only 1 point separated them, the
week before was 9 points. Talk about some close racing! These teams
have been 4th / 5th for four weeks now. Every point counts, and that is
very obvious when you're competing week in and week out this closely.
We had a
handful of excellent lineups this week, namely dirty duck, trentonk, Shake N
Bake, JTC & the Boyz, & Off Constantly. 35 or less points in a
race where several popular drivers and many drivers that practiced and qualified
good bit the dust is an amazing accomplishment! Congrats to all!!
The rest
of us who were closer to the 50+ totals felt the sting of at least one unlucky
driver. Some even less fortunate had 3 drivers drop the ball. But,
not to be out-done, race junky took out the trash... and slipped into the
dumpster! A 128 point lineup was the result of four, count 'em... 1 2 3 4,
drivers that biffed badly. Race junky's best... that's right BEST driver
finished 27th. ouch. The top ten train got derailed for race junky,
who was making a nice comeback after missing a race and was back in the top 15.
This week
NASCAR comes to our home-state of Kansas! I hope everyone who can go to
the race enjoys this year's festivities! Any bets on our home-state boy
Bowyer for win #2? He certainly has more momentum than ever before.
We've got
eight races left to go this season, and plenty of opportunity to gain not only
season positions, but also those top spots in wins, top 5's, & top
10's. If the championship seems out of reach at this point for your team,
go for the category positions! Remember, they each pay $55 for the most
(ties are split equally). Right now, all of them are within reach for
nearly anyone. A lot can happen in 8 races!
GOOD
LUCK!!
