Race
Summary:
Daytona is
quickly becoming my least favorite fantasy track, and I imagine after Daytona
Debacle II a few other teams may feel the same way. One team that
certainly doesn't feel that way is Hotrod, who turned in a 32 point lineup and
completely dominated this week's race. No one else was even close... the
second place lineup was 24 points behind, and most of the field was more than 60
points behind! No Stewart, no Earnhardt, no Harvick... no sweat for
Hotrod.
Cosmo also
deserves a little moment in the spotlight, turning in a 3rd place race roster
and also being the ONLY team to select the race winner J-Mac.
Unfortunately for Cosmo, he also had Stewart in the lineup this week which kept
him from contention for first place this week.
Most of
the other teams would have been thrilled to just have the "Stewart
screw-up" in their lineup. Some unlucky teams also had Earnhardt.
Some really unlucky teams also had Earnhardt AND Harvick. With three
drivers out, all of the hope rested on one driver to salvage some kind of
finish. For some it was Ku. Busch, others it was Truex Jr, but in the end
over half of the fantasy league teams broke the century mark in their lineups
this week. Ugly, Ugly, Ugly...
What did
this do to the season standings? Well, as you can see, several large jumps
and a lot of ugly red minus signs.
Brickman
led the way moving up 7 spots with a 2nd place race lineup, followed by Trentonk,
Cosmo, and Shake N Bake moving up 5 places. A frustrating gain was Hotrod,
who only gained one spot for his spectacular lineup, but in doing so finally
released the throne to Monkeyman. Another notable move comes from The
Tyler Tandem. It wasn't how much they moved, but where they moved to...
tied for first! Whitetrash has quietly been at the top for three weeks
now, albeit two weeks have been shared with another team. No ties at the
top the entire season and now two weeks in a row we have a draw at the
top. Smoke20 tried it last week, and now The Tyler Tandem is after it this
week. Will anyone be able to knock off Whitetrash?
This was
certainly the week to make some big moves if you could. When the big guns
go down, the points add up quick and the teams out there that are opportunistic
will take advantage of that. 9 teams had the exact same lineup. 12
teams had at least 3 drivers in common and guess what? Those three drivers
"bonked".
