Race
Summary:
How about that? Juan won one! Congrats to Rocketman, Speed Junkie, MonkeyMan, & trentonk for their predictions... well, with Juan anyway. Trentonk had a slight error in driver selection, picking Mark Martin. Did anyone see Mark at Sonoma? Hmmmm... me neither! Speed Junkie and MonkeyMan both fell victim to the fuel fiasco of Jamie McMurray... if not for that last gasp for gas, they both could have potentially had all four drivers in the top 10! The same could be said for Rocketman, who fared better, but still suffered from the Robby Gordon fuel frustration and got a 16th place finish from RoGo. Several others also fell victim to the Mark Martin weekend off. Might want to double-check the entry list on NASCAR.com and the race lineup after qualifying next time!
Spanking us all last week with a 30pt lineup was Spanky, whose worst driver was Dale Jr. at a respectable 13th. Rocketman and The Tyler Tandem also turned in nice lineups at 32 and 33 points, respectively. Things were tight and the top of the race results with only 21 points separating the top 21 teams. Over the league, this race was fairly tight, too, with 57 points from 1st to last. Even with that, we had some sizable jumps/falls in the season standings. There were alot of jumps up 2 spots in the season, and one jump 3 places from The Crew. In the red this week things looked a little uglier, even though everyone got their lineups in this week. KB GB Racing saw their ranking fall 6 spots deeper, and Cosmo dropped 4 places. Several other unfortunate souls saw a red -3 beside their team name in the season ranking. Other than a few 30 point gaps between 5th & 6th, and 18th & 19th, things are fairly close in the top 20. Don't let a little red get you down - sometimes only 10 points separate you from moving up two or even three positions. Keep picking steady, consistent lineups and you'll see your team moving up the charts week by week.
Looking over the lineups, the road course favorites were obvious. And with the road warriors that invade NASCAR during these specific races, I don't think anyone probably had any issues with the salary cap! Road courses are nice for that, but now we're back to New Hampshire where the favorite drivers are probably the more expen$ive ones. Good Luck!
