Race
Summary:
Boy, what
a waste of the all-star extra lineup money. With the fuel fiasco at the
end, the entire top five drivers didn't total more than $162,000!
You could have bought a 10 point lineup (1,2,3 & 4) for $134,800... $15,200
under the $150,000 salary cap! If someone would have come up with a lineup
under 20 points for this race, I believe I would go out and pick some lotto
numbers ASAP!!! It sure made things interesting at the end.
Well, it
was bound to happen... the dirty duck had an accident and got plucked from atop
the season standings! A 90 point lineup will do enough damage on its own,
but add to it the fact that TBills and Speedracer had 36 & 39 point lineups
and you've got a recipe for roast duck... hope dirty duck has that supplemental
insurance. You know, if you're hurt and miss work, it won't hurt to miss
work. Anyway, enough of the fowl tragedy. The Crew also has the
right to sing the blues. Biffle and Gordon tag-teamed The Crew on the
Sunday Night Smackdown. The bell rang often and early for this duo, and
The Crew never had a chance, so after a nice run in the top 10 The Crew gets
body-slammed down 8 spots in the season standings. Rocketman, trentonk,
and Off Constantly also felt the wrath of the tag-team roster killers.
This week, most of the damage was done by Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch teamed with
Kahne, Kyle Busch, or Newman. But there are certainly plenty to be
applauded as TBills and The Tyler Tandem nailed 3 out of the top 10 and all four
if you're counting the top 11! With the fuel cluster at the end, it's
incredible that anyone scored under 40 with guys like Mears, Yeley, Petty,
Sorenson, & Vickers securing the top 5 spots.
Super
Kudos definitely go out to TBills our new season points leader! However,
Speedracer is only a step behind... or rather a point - literally. And
both of the top 2 better keep their nose clean because race junky is only 3
points back from the #1 spot as well! Don't bask in your glory too long or
you might be dropped just as fast as you gained. MonkeyMan deserves some
well-earned recognition for a 3rd place race roster. A 39 point lineup
with a little help of a no-show from racinboys got MonkeyMan off the throne by
17 points! The Intimidator had the other 3rd place roster (a three way tie
at 39 points) and moving into the top 15 to 14th place.
Team
Recognition:
Bronze
Burnout goes to Queen B and trentonk for somehow selecting this week's winner,
Casey Mears. I don't know how you did it, but you did it and that's all
that matters!
The Golden
dipstick award goes to racinboys for another no show. I wonder if you're
trying to imitate the Mark Martin routine... kick butt, take a race off... kick
some more butt, take a race off... The big difference, however, is that
Mark Martin is 14th in points after missing three races; racinboys is 30th after
missing two races...
