Race
Summary:
Update:
Here are the "results" of the all-star race. Nobody got 10 for
10, but we had quite a few 7/10 and a lot of 6/10. The lineup selection
page has been updated to show your new salary cap.

<<Previous
Week>>
The
Intimidator tops us all for the second week in a row! This week was only
by a one point margin with Cattleman right on his heels. We had some great
lineups this week... almost half of the teams had a 40 pt lineup or less.
Apparently I've been making the drivers too affordable... lol. Don't
worry, I'm not hiking the driver prices through the roof like the local gasoline
prices. My philosophy on driver pricing: make them high enough to get
people to really think about choosing their lineups, but not so outrageous that
you can't have 2 or 3 or maybe even all 4 drivers in the top 10 of a race.
I think it's more fun this way. Teams seem to be mixing it up, too - just
a few of the lineups were identical this week. Anyway, back to
Darlington... Speedracer had a 3rd place race lineup that was good enough to
gain 3rd place in the season standings, too! 4U2Envy had a 4th place race
lineup, and while holding steady in the season standings, he gained 13 points on
the #1 dirty duck. Things are getting closer at the top. Everyone is
gunning for dirty duck, who has spent more time at the top than Jeff
Gordon. Any challengers? Race junky had him beat for a few laps, but
then fell back into second spot. This week, race junky gained 6 points on
our leader and could be poised for a pass if the lineup hits just right next
time. The rest of the top 10 did some switch-a-roo, but no one new and no
one fell out, although trentonk is just 2 points outside the season top 10
now. Not a lot of action back in the pack. The aforementioned
Intimidator climbed 3 more spots with the #1 race lineup, and Shake N Bake must
have shook something loose and fell apart, dropping 3 spots. I need some
crackers to go with my whine, as Hot Rod Wildcat had a 5th place race roster but
still fell a spot (actually tied) behind The Intimidator. Just goes to
show you it's not how good you are... it's how good you are compared those
around you!

Recognition:
Kudos to
Off Constantly as yet another race winner was selected. That makes 8 on
the season, leaving the rest of us in the dust in that category.
No
dipstick award this week - everyone got their lineups in on time and we didn't
have any lineups over 70 points. Kyle Busch was really the only
stub-your-toe-in-the-dark-hallway driver this week. (translation:
something ugly happened when you weren't expecting it and never saw it coming.)

NOTICE!!!
The All-Star race is not a season points race and therefore not included in the
season standings. I haven't really heard of any ideas for the all-star
race, so here's my thoughts...
I want to give everyone the chance to help out their season, so here's what
we're gonna do. Email me ten drivers. Don't try to submit them
online, it won't work for this race. Email me at hotrodwildcat@hotmail.com.
For each driver you select that finishes in the top ten - you'll get $1000 added
to your salary next race. So, if all 10 drivers finish in the top ten, you
get $10,000 extra to spend on your lineup next race. This way, everyone
wins... or at least has a chance to. If you're like me, you could have a
$200,000 salary cap and still have a 40 point roster!
